WORLD Champion Jason Doyle insists he never considered quitting Britain as he prepare for his return to Leicester on Monday (7.30).
Doyle won the sport’s ultimate prize on an emotional night in Melbourne last October and has won new fans throughout the world.
Now he’s preparing to lead Somerset when they visit the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena (Beaumont Park) to face Simon Stead’s Leicester. He had two seasons in Lions colours.
“I’ve been in British racing a long time and there was no way I was ready to walk away, I said that from the moment I won the title,” he said.
“I’m pleased to have secured a place with Somerset, it’s a good move for me because I know the club so well and I’ve got a lot of friends there.
“I also like my time at Leicester, the fans there are really good and I’m looking forward to getting the season started.”
